I Also liked how they designed the crystal basement, thought it looked nice. The rod titan was done pretty well but some CGI cuts were not pretty. The only thing I had a slight issue with was some of the CGI cuts. In some scenes I was just in awe of how Wit Studio crafted the world of attack on titan so beautifully. shit going on in that scene literally just made my brain go like, “what the fuck that just happened.” Not only did the animation improve but also the art quality improved. The Levi vs Kenny Squad sequence in episode 2 had some of the best Sakuga and animation I had ever seen All of anime, let alone TV anime. Out of nowhere Studio Wit upped the quality of the production values to a point I didn’t was possible in a TV anime. The Survey Corps' recent successes have drawn attention, and a familiar face from Levi's past is sent to collect the wanted soldiers. It’s slightly related to an old Flagstaff radio show from 2008, kinda like how Frasier was slightly related to Cheers. Objection Network is a pop culture extravaganza with a weekly podcast every Thursday at noon, daily Let's Play videos, and a bevy of blog posts for your enjoyment. Season 3 may be a departure of what most fans expect and are used to (“where are the Titans?!” they ask), but I appreciate the tonal shifts and the show’s ability to enter areas of gray through its storytelling and character development, and I think “Red Swan” is the perfect summation of this balance. This opening has grown on me in ways that I didn’t think it would. It showcases the fall of peace and childhood innocence with someone who has become battle-hardened over the years (especially with the recent developments and potential dynamic shifts in the manga, hoo boy). The part that really gets me is at the “like a fallen angel” lyrics when Eren’s past and present selves interact with each other. The visuals themselves are also gorgeous, contrasting childhood innocence and the pain of the truth that comes with maturity and adversity. It reflects the emphasis on family dynamics and the bonds that tie these people together in the face of apocalypse. Despite that, after watching to the opening a few times and knowing what this season of Attack on Titan is going to focus on based on the manga, I ended up appreciating the song a lot more. A slower, piano heavy Attack on Titan opening that isn’t by Linked Horizon that still manages to be good? How is this possible? I remember being a little disappointed when I first listened to the opening and realized that it wasn’t going to have the grand, sweeping orchestral portions of the previous openings or Linked Horizon’s name attached to it.
